Halloween social club

Halloween is a celebration on the night of October 31st. It is most practiced in the United States and Canada. Children wear costumes and go to people’s homes saying, «Trick or treat!» to ask for candy (sweets in the UK) and people give it to them. The suggestion is: «Give me a treat or I will play a trick on you.» People mainly dress up as ghosts, witches, or other scary things for Halloween. Many countries around the world have adopted this celebration as well and it has become a huge event worldwide. The spooky season is now spread all over the planet!
We had a very spooky celebration for Halloween where all our guests had the chance to experience a great evening full of joy and fun. All our students and their guests were asked to attend the party wearing a costume, the night started out with a little introduction about the meaning and origins of the celebration, which was a wonderful way to break the ice.
After the introduction we had a sort of warm up activity in which each one had to decide between two scary situations and deal with it. The situations were scenarios of real spooky things; it was quite a hard decision to make!
Our main event for the night was the costume contest that took place by the end of the night among all our guests, where each one of them had to show off their costume and explain what it was about and the reason why they wore it that nigh.
We had so much fun, and we also were lucky to have listened to many different stories from our invitees.
Our main purpose for Halloween night was to make our students feel a cozy environment where they could be able to celebrate the holiday and of course it was a great excuse to practice everyone’s English as well.
It was without a doubt a Happy Halloween!
